Speed Training Myths
Many people getting speed training hesitate to ask simple looking questions with their guide. As a result of this, they don’t do the workouts during training with full zeal and faith. This trend adversely affects the results of their training. To help you out in this regard, I am going to explain some of such aspects.   1. About static stretching: Static stretching reduces your power output. Be ready for workouts by doing some warm up exercises. Start with less intense movements. Feeling your muscles loosen, start explosive movements. 2. About strength training for females: Most of the females runners think that they don’t need weight lifting or other stretched physical workouts. This is wrong. Strength training improves the performance and reduces the probability of getting muscles injuries while running.  3. About the limit of speed: Many runners believe that they can’t run beyond a certain limit because of their body structure. It is not true. There are many athletes who look very weak but run at very good speed. Similarly, many children run faster than the grown up people. So, remember, it is the skill of running that enhances the speed. Athletes of any age can improve their speed with the help of specifically designed training program. 4. About hard training: Many people think that they can get the expected results more earlier if they do more intense workouts daily. But this is not right. Generally, it takes 40-48 hours to recover from the stresses of intense training. If you do too much workouts to get the expected results soon, you will become more prone to injuries, decreased performance and fatigue problems.  5. About the affects of speed training on athlete’s growth: Many people think that strength training may adversely affect their physical growth. This is purely a myth. If you do workouts under the expert guidance of a coach, you wouldn’t get any side effects. Â
